DFF to play a large part in Stockton's Steelhead Festival
September 16, Stockton CA. The second annual Stockton Steelhead festival, scheduled for October 7th at UOP, has some major sponsors, not the least of which is our own club, the Delta Fly Fishers. Other sponsors include the University of the Pacific, Tokay Press, REI, Friends of the Lower Calaveras River, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Bear Marketing and Frankenmuffin Productions.
DFF personnel have volunteered to man three stations at the festival, a casting clinic, an information table and a fly tying table. If you have not already signed up, you can contact Ron Forbes, . Ron will add you to the list and give you an assignment according to your preference. The festival runs from 11am to 4pm so the amount of time necessary to volunteer is not overly much.
The event will also feature live music, environmental education, fine arts, a 5k fun run, children's arts and crafts, a live steelhead fish tank, and an environmental film festival featuring the recent Restore the Delta documentary, "Over Troubled Waters" and the legendary steelhead film, "Rivers of a Lost Coast."
