the DFF annual dinner
January 7, 2013 - This year's annual dinner looks to be a winner
with a new family style service, the presentation of the Fly Fisher
of the Year, The Don Payne, President's Club Service Award and
everyone's favorite, the Incomplet Angler Award. The new slate of
incoming officers and directors will be sworn in and the evening
will wind up with a giant raffle and silent auction featuring at
least six fly rods, two motorized float tubes, numerous guided trips
and a long list of smaller prizes.
A major change will be that the dinners will be served family style
with guests helping themselves from serving bowls brought to the
tables. The fare, tri-tip, barbecued chicken quarters, green beans,
salad, baked potato, wine and coffee or tea for the meat eaters and
vegetarian lasagna for those that choose will fill the hungriest of
The evening will end with Bill Laughlin's last efforts as the Delta
Fly Fishers raffle chair and he has made a commitment to make this
raffle one of his best. The total value of the products and services
surpass the $4,000 mark, a spectacular end to Bill's career.
The dinner is scheduled for January 26th at the Eagle's Lodge, 1492
Bourbon Street, Stockton. The evening will start with a no-host bar
and cocktail hour at 6pm, with dinner served at 7:30. Tickets are
$35 for either the regular or vegetarian dinner.
