The club gathers at Oak Grove Park wilderness center to tie a select fly. For the nominal fee of $5 you get enough supplies and instruction to tie 3 of the chosen pattern. Patterns are often geared towards our outings or towards the fishing season.
DFF is holding a Flyday meet up at House of Coffees for an open tying night. Come and join us for coffee, tea or craft beers in a relaxed setting where your can tie your choice of flies and chat it up with fellow fisherman.
Flydays are currently on hold due to COVID restrictions!
The club periodically runs a beginning fly tying series. This is geared for the development of basic tying skills, tools and knowledge while introducing the new tier to commonly used flies. Develop your skills and knowledge in a supportive environment!
Have you done just enough tying to develop a few bad habits? Are you not sure where to go after your intro class? This is the class for you- the flies get a bit smaller and the techniques get more involved but the fun and support are free flowing- Look for the series on our calendar.
Our 2019 Fly Tying seminar featured Jon Baiocchi of Baiocchi Troutfitters. Jon presented on Lake Davis, Frenchman's and Eagle Lakes and tied his specialty flies for each lake during this fun seminar.
Look for accompanying outings this spring and fall!
