Fly of the month is on hold. Please join us for our fly tying meetups. Mote information in next column!

Open Fly Tying & Casting Sessions: Look for our monthly tying and casting evenings. These are great informal activities to hone your skills and connect with other members. Look for these activities on our calendar of events on the home page.
DFF holds a beginner fly tying class every November. This class allows members who have little or no familiarity with fly tying to tie their own flies and develop the essential skills to continue this art on your own. Tim Costello will be your instructor. Tim has been an expert tier for such events such as the 2023 Yuba Fest and the 2024 ISE Show and taught private classes with other expert tiers.

We have members who are interested in advancing their tying skills by formally working through the FFI fly tying program. We will be meeting once a month at Lodi Cyclery on Sunday afternoons to work through the flies of the bronze tying program. Look for it in our newsletter.

Fly Tying Day is December 5, 2026. An entire day devoted to fly tying with breakfast and lunch included. The cost is $35 to secure your spot.
